As mentioned before from time to time in-between new shoots adjust rediscovering old photo sets as I archive them. For today I have a quick little set literally form years ago. It’s a very simple set with just a flash and white wall. Enjoy.
Sometimes the people you meet happen through others. Stevie is a prime example of of someone you meet through others. At the time she lived in Austin which is a couple hours north of Houston which is also where my friend Haileybeth lives. It just so happened Hailey and I had not shot together in a while and she was coming to town and she told me she was coming with her friend Stevie. I had already wanted to shoot with Stevie prior to this but just could never seem to find time to try and set something up and make the trip to Austin.
Turned out to be great timing as Stevie was preparing to make a move to Los Angeles! Which she’s since done. So if you happen to be in Los Angeles look her up @sarahstevimusic and support her music as well!
Through Hailey and Stevie we had access to a pretty nice apartment near the 610 loop that had a very nice balcony and decor. This turned out to be a real blessing as it turned out to be a gross rainy day outside. But what else can you expect form Houston, Tx in November lol. But the clouds made for some great soft lighting for the shots on the balcony. So can’t complain too much. Hopefully I’ll get to make a trip to Los Angeles soon and link up with Stevie again soon.
It’s always awesome meeting and shooting with new people! Especially when they’re as cool as Stevie! Seriously don’t forget to give her a follow and support her music! And until the next post, be well.
We finally find ourselves at the last post for this series with Quyhn. I can’t thank Quyhn enough for shooting with me and being such an awesome subject. And a huge thank you to those who follow my work and have interacted and left your thoughts. And I look forward to creating more content through out the year and onward.
For the last look we once again kept it pretty simple. But thanks to Quyhn’s awesome ability to pose and move naturally we made some pretty epic photos. Honestly some of my favorite that I’ve made… period.
This wraps up this photo set, but remember to be on the look out for future posts. And feel free to follow me on IG @corychrry for more updates. Hope you are all well and to hear form you! Cheers!
Continuing with at least one new post a week, I give you another look with the gorgeous Quyhn! We were fortunate to have the use of a kitchen with a lot of natural light. So she brought a white outfit that flowed perfectly with the setting. I’ve probably said it a thousand times but I am a huge fan of simplicity, so when she showed me the outfit I knew it was going to work out perfectly! And of course now Valentines day has come and gone, but this is only the second look of three that I’ll be sharing from our shoot. And I also had two other shoots leading up to Valentines Day. So with that said I hope you’re enjoying the content so far and I’m looking forward to creating even more content in the future!
I can’t state enough just how much I love natural light. Of course there are times when you have to for lack of a better term create your light. But when it’s there… use it! And luckily where we shot had plenty of natural light coming in form big windows, and had bright cabinets and counter tops that bounced and reflected the light beautifully.
This will conclude this set. But be on the look out for the third set coming soon! And follow me on IG @corychrry and Quyhn @_moonchildrose_
Be well and hope to hear some feedback as well. Don’t be a stranger.
It’s been a while! After a bit of a hiatus or break or whatever you want to call it, I have decided to try to keep this page updated a little more often. Recently I’ve begun shooting again, and usually what follows is the thought of what to do with the images once they’re done so… let’s post them here! Between work and having classes I can’t promise non stop new material, but in-between new sets I can post some older sets I don’t really have shared anywhere except Instagram. I will try my best to do at least a post per week.
Since that’s now been established let’s start off with one of my first shoots to start the year of 2019! It’s always awesome seeing old friends again. Especially those you haven’t seen in a few years. One such person is Quyhn @ _moonchildrose_ on IG. We first shot together years ago and made some awesome photos!
I’ve never been an overly complicated person, especially when it comes to photography. So we came up with some simple outfit ideas to shoot. Nothing too fancy, but the end results were great.
Quyhn definitely embraced her inner big cat lol. It’s always great to shoot with someone who uses every inch of their environment during a shoot.
I’ll end this post here, but it’s definitely to be continued. This was one of three outfits I’d wish to share with you. So stay tuned!
One of the main reasons for the trip to Los Angeles was to create content and shoot a short video for a local Houston artist named Jae Stokes(IG: @jae_la_soul). He creates some of the best hip hop I've heard coming out of Houston in a while. As he sticks true to the roots of hip hop with his lyrics and delivery style. give his sound cloud a listen and peep some of the images we captured of him while in L.A.
Recently we got to take a trip/vacation to Los Angeles. We headed out west to shoot some content for a long time friend of ours and local hip hop artist by the name of Jae Stokes(IG: @jae_la_soul) And check out his sound cloud at www.soundcloud.com/reupgangstokes if you're into good hip hop and check out his mixtape.
Of course no trip to L.A. would be complete without King Taco or Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, and a good dosage of the Pacific Ocean air. And as it just so happened we had the privilege of getting to bring along a Leica m240 as well as a Nikon D800. Though Most if not all of the photos on this post will be from either the Leica or an iPhone 7 plus, as the D800 was mainly on video duty(watch this site for when the music video is done and posted up!) Hope you can sit back and enjoy this small collection of photos from L.A. and surrounding areas.
This set is actually from 2015 when The Turnaways were playing a set at Walter's Downtown. This was the first chance I'd get to meet everyone in the band and hear them live before eventually going on a west coast tour. If you've never had the chance to go check out a show at Walter's it's an awesome atmosphere. Only thing photographically speaking is the lighting can be a bit of a challenge. But it definitely made for some dramatic and interesting shots.

Not too long ago I got the great chance to visit New York City around Thanksgiving time. Nothing really compares to that nervous, almost anxious feeling you get when your plane is coming in on the runway and you were fortunate enough to snag a window seat so you can watch that iconic skyline appear in your window as the plane begins it's descent. As soon as you feel the wheels touch and you hear the applause from your fellow passengers for the pilot not killing everyone upon landing is when you know you've officially arrived in New York. Not only did I bring my D800 on this trip, but I also rented a fuji x100s form lensrentals.com as I knew I wanted something small rand lighter to just walk around with. Being form Houston New York City in late November is definitely not something I'm use to weather wise. I think each day there it was a cool 30 degrees and windy. But that didn't detract from the trip at all.
